Maryam (Iram) K. Ansari, Esq.  

As a member of both the New York State Bar (Feb. 2006) and the California State Bar (Feb. 2007), Ms. Ansari has a broad range of legal experience.  She began her legal career at an east coast criminal defense and personal injury law firm.  After passing the New York Bar on the first try, Ms. Ansari gained courtroom experience working with two of Sacremento's most famous litigators on a high-profile criminal trial that was covered by national media outlets, including CNN.

Although Ms. Ansari's experience began in general civil and criminal litigation, she has since moved into transactional practice, counselling start-ups and charities.  Her selective litigation practice currently consists of ERISA law, state-tax matters and occasional Federal tax controversy matters. 

Ms. Ansari earned her Law Degree in 2004 from the University of Ottawa, a highly respected Canadian Law School. She is currently a Masters in Law (LLM) candidate in Taxation at Golden Gate University in San Francisco. 

She is a member of the ABA Section of Taxation, Committee on Tax Exempt Organizations, the ABA Young Lawyers' Division, and the Bay Area Young Tax Lawyers.

Ms. Ansari is also a published writer and has published articles for the ABA's GP Solo Practice, RIA Thomson Reuters 'Taxation of Exempts' and currently writes free-lance for Thomson Reuters/FindLaw.
